The contract with a Life Coach is that the client will perform his/her part in fulfilling the agreed steps.
The client will be trained to motivate action, to be clear thinking and focused about ambitions, to meet
challenges positively and resourcefully, to see the greater picture of health and life's purpose.
I combine a number of different coaching techniques, together with my expertise in hypnotherapy and
NLP. In most cases, the coaching will be centred around the GROW model of coaching:
Goal setting - I agree with you the subject for discussion; I then help you to identify an objective that is
to be achieved by the end of the session. The objective for the session is linked to a longer-term goal,
for which a time-frame is set.
Reality - We will analyse the present reality in detail and discuss the implications of the goal.
Through effective questioning and listening skills, you are helped to assess the current situation in
considerable depth.
Options - An appraisal of all the possible approaches and solutions to the problem. Each option is
then considered on its merits, and you are encouraged to think about and decide on which option
appeals the most.
Which, when, how and by whom - This is the time for decisions. What exactly are you going to do?
An action plan of specific steps to achieve the goal is drawn up. Once again, the internal and external
factors which may hinder a successful outcome are examined. You are also asked to consider what
kind of support you may need to implement the action plan and who can supply this support.
"A goal without a plan is just a wish. " - Larry Elder
“Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.” -
David Joseph Schwartz
“To have Goals is to have a future, because without goals we will strive for nothing.” - Andrew Ridings
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream”. - C. S. Lewis
